Extech Instruments is excited for the launch of the AN300 series of large vane anemometers and multi-function HVAC meters. The new meters couple the advantage of easier measurements with a large vane anemometer and the convenience of multiple Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) measurement capabilities in one meter.
Useful for tasks such as balancing HVAC systems, the new Extech AN300 series large 4" meters are designed for HVAC technicians who need to check air flow and volume on large points such as vents, registers, filters, returns, fume hoods, exhausts, as well as specialized systems such as dust collection systems.
HVAC technicians can select from three meter models that measure air velocity (CFM, CMM), air flow (ft/min, m/s), and air temperature (°F, °C), along with available relative humidity (%RH), wet bulb and dew point temperature measurements (AN310 and AN320) as well as carbon dioxide (ppm) readings (AN320). All three models calculate a multipoint average using points defined by the user to monitor a system at different stages of function. Technicians can also measure timed averages over a period of time while viewing the on-screen elapsed timer.
Minimum and maximum values can be monitored and a data hold function allows the user to lock the screen on a reading to make notations or compare with other recorded measurements. For added versatility, AN300 meters automatically recognize available cone and square funnel adapters with preset area measurements. The time-saving AN300-C adapter set eliminates the need to calculate area dimensions.
“Air flow and volume measurements are essential for effective HVAC work,” says Mike Fox, General Manager at Extech Instruments. Fox adds, “The AN300 makes it easier to do those parts of the job while equipping technicians with added tools for IAQ diagnostics.”
