So we all know the story about how guys don't say "I love you" to other guys unless you add a comma and "man" to the phrase so it ends up "I love you, man." Well, evidently that's not true for the BR200. On Friday I was working with another electrician fishing wires through a ceiling around a corner in a hallway and it was tough. I mean real tough. I went to my truck and got my BR 200 and brought it in. I had shown it to the other guy, but he'd never had a chance to use it before. I let him try it out. We had a four inch access hole where a light was going, then we had to drill with a six foot bit through a block they had mounted in the middle of that bay about two feet from our hole, and on the other side of that block we had two water pipes and a drain pipe about three feet from the block. We were going to try and use the existing holes for the cold water pipe to cross two more bays to the side to an existing light. I ran a fish tape through the two holes with the other guy verifying that I had made it to the correct bay, then he ran a fiberglass fish stick with a hook through the hole in the block to catch my fish tape. The only reason this was even remotely possible was thanks to the BR200 which he was able to use and gauge where the end of my fish tape was. It turned a three hour nightmare into a one hour job and at the end I could hear him in the kitchen saying "I love you" and making kissing sounds at the borescope along with some choice words about his boss for not buying him one like it. It was probably one of the funniest things I've heard at work in a long time. Funny, but true. Once you use one of these, you won't know how you ever worked without one. Thanks again, Extech!
