Inrush can get extremely high. What is the safe inrush current for this 400 amp meter? With the time involved considered? I work regularly with 50 HP and higher @ 600V where 1HP=1A. Inrush

typically can be 300% and higher.

Bradley, because this is a clamp meter, the EX623 will not be damaged by current values higher than 400 A. It will just give an out of range indication. The clamp doesn’t make a physical connection to the circuit like a multimeter in current mode would.
Thank you. The EX623 is the favourite of my Extech family and I didn't want to hurt Him. He's worth his weight in gold around VFD's. His name is Clyde the Clamp. My EX570 is Morty Multi.
:-) anytime!

we are glad to help!
